Tummy Tuck Before & After

This patient in her early 50s presented with concerns following two previous pregnancies, including a very significant lower abdominal overhang, excess abdominal fatty tissue and very large breasts. These issues affected her overall body shape, comfort and confidence. She underwent a large breast reduction combined with a full tummy tuck to reduce breast size, remove excess abdominal skin and tissue, and improve her overall body contour. Her results are shown at 6 months after surgery and demonstrate a marked improvement in breast size and shape, a flatter abdominal profile, reduction of the abdominal overhang and a more balanced overall silhouette.

This patient in her 30s presented with concerns about loose lower abdominal skin and a persistent “pouch” around her caesarean section scar following two pregnancies, despite significant weight loss through diet and exercise. Examination demonstrated lower abdominal tissue laxity, a tethered caesarean section scar, mild overhang, stretch marks and only minimal abdominal muscle separation. She underwent a mini tummy tuck combined with 100cc liposuction to the abdomen, aiming to improve the lower abdominal contour while keeping the scar low. Her before and after images show a flatter, smoother lower abdominal profile, improvement in the caesarean scar overhang and a more defined abdominal contour.

This patient in her late 50s had developed an overhang of skin and fatty tissue on her lower abdomen following two caesarean sections, which had worsened after the menopause. Her abdominal muscles were intact, so a mini tummy tuck with liposuction was suitable: a lower abdominal skin ellipse including her previous C-section scar was removed, combined with liposuction (450cc aspirate) and excision of 135g of tissue. The before and after photos below are those of a patient who had a standard abdominoplasty with liposuction. She also had an augmentation mastopexy (breast lift with implants inserted as a single-stage procedure) carried out at the same time. The postoperative results are at six months. Note that the abdominal scar is still thickened (hypertrophic) at the centre and would be expected to improve over the next 12 months.
