Breast reduction surgery in Edinburgh, Scotland – 6-month before and after results
This patient, around 40 years of age, underwent breast reduction surgery with approximately 600g of tissue removed from each breast. Before surgery she had long-standing neck, back and shoulder pain, shoulder grooving, skin irritation and difficulty with exercise and clothing.
The photographs show her result at six months: the breast shape has settled, with improved symmetry and the breasts sitting higher on the chest wall, and her physical symptoms have eased.
Breast reduction – 53-year-old, 32kk to lighter, balanced breasts
This 53-year-old patient sought a breast reduction after years of very large breasts (32KK), with neck and shoulder pain, poor posture and difficulty finding comfortable clothing. She underwent a bilateral breast reduction, with 920g of tissue removed from the right breast and 1,240g from the left. The photographs show her at her six-month review; she reported resolution of her pain and improved posture.
Breast reduction for comfort, confidence, and proportion
This 48-year-old patient had large, heavy breasts that remained out of proportion despite losing weight, with neck pain and difficulty with clothing fit. She underwent a bilateral breast reduction with over 500g of tissue removed from each breast. The photographs show her result at 6 months.

Free nipple graft breast reduction: 6-month result
This patient in her late 40s underwent bilateral breast reduction using the free nipple graft technique, with 1.6kg removed from the right breast and 1kg from the left. Before surgery she had severe back and neck pain, deep shoulder grooves from bra straps, persistent skin irritation and restricted movement. The free nipple graft approach is used for patients requiring substantial tissue removal. The photographs show improved breast proportion, symmetry and position, and she reported relief from her physical symptoms.

This patient in her late 30s underwent bilateral breast reduction surgery, with 630g removed from the right breast and 480g from the left. The photographs show her at her 5-month follow-up. Since surgery she has become more active, has lost 1.5 stone in weight and now wears a 34C bra.
Free nipple graft before and after
These before and after photos show the results of breast reduction surgery for a woman in her mid-50s with very large breasts (size 40H). A free nipple grafting technique was used to allow a substantial reduction in breast size. Following surgery her back pain and skin irritation eased, and she found exercise easier, losing 8kg as her mobility improved.
Large breast reduction
This young lady had fairly debilitating problems caused by her large breasts, including neck and shoulder pain, as well as rashes under her breasts. She had real difficulty finding suitable clothing and bras.

This patient felt that their breasts were heavy, and this had been long-standing. They did not like the cosmetic appearance of their breasts and felt limited in terms of exercise and clothing. They experienced shoulder grooving, backache, and rashes under the breasts.
They had a large volume reduction with over 1kg removed from each breast. Results are shown at 6 months.

Moderate breast reduction before and after
This lady had breast reduction surgery in her early 40s. She had one previous pregnancy, and her family was complete. She did not like the cosmetic appearance of her breasts and also experienced some back pain.
Her outcome is shown at 6 months, with her scars settling well at this early stage.
Large breast reduction in patient in early 20s
This young lady in her early 20s felt her breasts were too big, and this had been a long-standing concern. She experienced backache, restriction in her choice of clothing, difficulty exercising and unwanted attention.
She had a standard “anchor-shaped scar” breast reduction with just over 1000g of tissue removed from each side. Her results are shown at 6 months and would be expected to improve further as the scars settle.
Breast reduction
This lady is in her early-50s. She had long-standing concerns about the size of her breasts since her teenage years and experienced neck, shoulder, and back pain. She was finding this harder to cope with as she got older. She also had difficulty exercising and had experienced unwanted attention in the past.
She had a significant reduction (over 1000g removed from each side), and results are shown at six months.
Large reduction
This young patient had a large volume breast reduction (1400g on her right and 1300g on her left). She no longer experiences neck and shoulder strain and is more comfortable in clothing and when exercising. Results are at 6 months.
Breast reduction/lift 6 months post-op
This lady is in her mid-20s. She presented with long-standing concerns about her breasts. She was suffering from shoulder discomfort and pain. She had to wear tight, supportive bras and did not like the appearance of her breasts which were droopy. She wanted to address her concerns while she was still young. She had a moderate breast reduction and lift (approx 500g removal each breast) and her results are shown at 6 months. Scars have settled particularly well at this stage as they can usually take much longer to fully settle down.

This patient had a moderate-sized breast reduction in her 50s. Results are shown at 6 months and 3 years later. Note how much the scars have improved at 3 years. Scars are often at their worst at 6 months and gradually settle down over time in most patients.

This patient is in her early 50s. She had long-standing issues with neck and shoulder pain and difficulty finding suitable clothing. She also felt self-conscious about the appearance of her breasts. She had just under 500g removed from each breast, and results are shown at just over 5 months post-op.

Large breast reduction with asymmetry before and after
The patient below was in her early 40s and experienced symptoms of neck ache, shoulder grooving and occasional rashes under her breasts in warmer weather. She had a moderate-sized breast reduction with just under 1000g removed from her left breast and 730g from her right breast. Results are shown at six months. Note the scars are still a little red and thickened at this stage. Scars can take up to 18 months to settle fully.
Moderate breast reduction before and after
The patient below was in her late 40s and experienced symptoms of back and neck ache and difficulty with clothing and exercise due to the size of her breasts. She had a moderate sized breast reduction. Results are shown at six months. Note the scars are still a little thickened at this stage.

Breast reduction
I had a quite a big breast asymmetry to begin with which i was very unhappy with. after being denied by the NHS 4 times, i found Mr Quaba whilst doing research. From my consultation he has been so honest with me and so calming about the entire procedure.
