Mr Quaba has been using lasers for the treatment of a variety of conditions for over 25 years. He established the plastic surgery laser suit at St John’s Hospital in Livingston. In particular he has vast experience in the use of lasers for the treatment of congenital and acquired birth marks. Lasers also play an important role in facial rejuvenation, hair removal and the treatment of thread veins (see relevant sections).
Lasers act in a similar way to deep chemical peels and can have a profound improvement on overall smoothness and texture of the face. They can be used effectively to treat fine lines and wrinkles. Like deep chemical peels, the recovery period can be lengthy. Prolonged redness, sun hypersensitivity and pigmentation changes can occur.
